Great minds....

Here is Ronda's swap for our Summertime theme.  Interestingly enough, Ronda came over and we were working on our swaps together.  Rather Ronda was working on her swaps and I was playing with some new toy aka Bigz Punch and I wasn't really paying attention to what she was working on.  As it turns out, we were going to prepare the same card!  My thoughts were to change it out a little but basically the same card...so yes, I switched my idea and used the Bigz Punch.  (I already posted my card...see earlier posts.)  How fun is that?

Here are more of the fabulous swaps from June's stamp club.

I love how MG & Penny left their sentiments blank so we can fill in as needed.  Cynthia's Family Vacation is just plain fun!  Thanks gals, love them all!

Summer Time

Here's is the card Jackie made for our June stamp club meeting...isn't it bright and cheerful?  Our swap theme was 'Summer'.  This certainly does remind us of summer.  She used a napkin as a background, isn't that clever?  See the butterflies, they were made using  Stampin' Up 's sizzlet.  Enjoy.  There will be more of our June swaps appearing within the next few days.

Keeping the Happy Birthday Theme Going...

Keeping with the birthday theme this holiday weekend (if Monday can be considered a weekend.)  Here is a birthday card I made for our stamp club's 'Black & White' Swap theme.  I used the new textured embossing folder from Stampin' Up, DSP paper white organdy ribbon and black 'n white ribbon.  The "Happy Birthday" Words were typed in my word processing program just because I wanted it to expand the entire length of the card (and I was making twelve of them).

I'll get the others posted soon but wanted to share this with you all today.  Enjoy!

Welcome to Donna, our newest stamp club member.  Thanks Amy for saving the day with the catalogs!

May Stamp Club Make 'n Take

Here is the Make 'n Take from yesterday's Stamp Club.  The Palm Tree is from Tropical Party Stamp Set.  Card stock is Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, and Old Olive.  We also used the new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with the Big Shot.  This is a fun embossing folder to use...seems to actually change the texture of the card stock itself.  We sponged the color on the Whisper White card stock to give it a little something...something. A little linen thread, brads and a simple happy birthday and viola' a great little card.   Tropical Party and the embossing folder are in the Summer Mini catalog.  Contact me at dsarkins2@comcast.net if you do not have a copy and I'll be happy to slip one into the mail for you.

This was my April swap. Notice the frayed fiber at the top of the card? This is from the new embossing folder. Once you use it, it actually changes the fiber of the card stock. Also, you'll notice there is absolutely no stamping on this card. I wanted to show you, you really can create a card in minutes using scraps. The "Happy Birthday" was typed on regular copy paper, the DSP was a scrap piece, the white satin ribbon and the black 'n white ribbon were left overs...hope you like it. I didn't even use a full background of embossing card stock, just strips and rounded the front top and bottom corners with a corner rounder.

April Stamp Club Make 'n Take

Here's the Make 'n Take for this month's stamp club. Melon Mambo is the dominate color along with accents from Curry. The Curry is retiring at the end of June. Melon Mambo will be returning for another year as a current "In Color". The stamp set used is a Level 2 Hostess, Wings of Friendship. This was a quick, simple card.
The other make 'n take was an opportunity to play with the new embossing folder from SU. It is an unique folder as it actually changes the fibers of the cardstock. Way cool! My swap used the embossing folder...come back tomorrow for that sample.

Another Stamp Club Swap

Don't you just love the solitude of this card, so very appropriate for a sympathy. This was prepared by Penny. Unfortunately, the older I get, the more of these types of cards, I need. This is so thought provoking. Thanks, Penny another lovely swap.

April Stamp Club Swap

Here's Jackie's swap for April. We all can use more thank you cards can't we. She used ultra thick embossing powder on designer paper. You cannot tell from the image but it looks almost like glass. Very unique indeed, thanks Jackie!

Stamp Club Swap April

Look at this, our swap theme this month was Black 'n White so I'll be posting the swaps this week. This was created by Debra, isn't it beautiful. The hummingbird and leaves were all created using the Cricut Expressions. I have one but rarely use it. This was mounted on Whisper White card stock. She didn't put a sentiment on it so we could all add whatever we needed at the time. Lovely, thanks Debra!
